Heat across Europe is now hitting forty in a number of cities. An alert was first issued in the Dutch when temps rose above seven-and-thirty, and officials have kept it in place through Saturday. In Dutch capital people are hanging curtains outside to keep the harsh sun out. The scorching weather is stressing homes built for colder months.
The WHO say more than 1300 extra deaths have been linked to the heat across areas. Evening readings stay high, experts say. They urge everyone to drink water, stay out of the sun at peak times and find shade.
