Portelli made the move after citing tax concerns and political oversight as primary reasons for his decision. He stated that Australia is finished when discussing his unexpected move from his home country.

Portelli has now settled in Dubai. Regardless of his move to relocate internationally, the businessman is not stepping back from his business holdings in Australia. He continues to expand his Australian business empire while living in Dubai.
