Clare Wright appeared at public events, as a prominent historian, famed for The Forgotten Rebels of Eureka (2013), which portrays the Eureka Rebellion from women's perspectives. She has also written and presented history programs for ABC, including Utopia Girls and The War That Changed Us. She earned a PhD from the University of Melbourne, heading public history projects at La Trobe and has served on the National Museum of Australia Council since 2022. In 2020 she received the Medal of the Order of Australia. for her services to literature and historical research.
