Barry George who was born 15 April 1960 in London, and now is known for being wrongfully convicted of Jill Dando's murder in 2001 and later cleared in 2008 after serving eight years in prison. In 2025 reports, he faced new charges including one count of rape and two counts of indecent assault relating to alleged events in September 1987 involving a 14-year-old girl in west London; the Crown Prosecution Service approved a charging decision following a police investigation. He has a history of prior offenses, including indecent assault in the early 1980s and other alleged acts, but his murder conviction has been overturned and he has since been linked to various other sensational but unproven claims in public discourse.
