Harden appeared for for Somerset between 1985 and 1998, and Yorkshire (1999-2000), having spells in NZ. He later moved to the country, and operates a financial advisory business. Rachel Reese is his wife, whom he supported in Nelson mayoral campaign, wedding occurred in 2017; they have three children from previous relationships.
