Jewellery brand Giva has withdrawn a Raksha Bandhan commercial with Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon following public criticism over her outfit. The commercial for the Indian Hindu festival was scrapped after backlash regarding a bikini outfit. In response to the removal of the campaign, Sanon questioned when society will stop telling women what to wear.
Politician Rahul Gandhi backed Kriti Sanon and supported the star over the advert row, saying that what a woman wears is her own choice. Actor Kangana Ranaut also shared a message regarding the dispute, sharing a post addressed to Rahul Gandhi.
